Atlanta

September 2022 - Dad and I were able to squeeze in our yearly baseball trip at the last minute in 2022. With a baby on the way and my insane workload we kept it as close as we could and chose Atlanta. When I was planning this last-minute trip, I expected the worst. I knew nothing about Atlanta except that Ludacris was raised there and it was a primary filming location for The Walking Dead. Happily, my expectations were shattered by the views, the people, and The Battery. The Battery had been completed in 2017 and was completely off my radar. It is AWESOME and is one of the first stadiums we visited that has a town build around it with apartments, hotels, bars, and restaurants. The whole experience is very cool and was an easy plane ride from Trenton airport for us. The people in Atlanta couldn't have been friendlier including our Uber drivers who pointed us in the best direction for food and entertainment. We were lucky and due to a room mix-up at our first hotel, Expedia.com put us up at The Omni, which is second to none and we had an incredible view of the stadium from our room (which had floor-to-ceiling windows).

The city itself was another story. We walked from the capitol complex to the Georgia Tech area, and it didn't feel very safe. The city tour was a great overview and was more than enough of downtown. Go for a game. Stick to the Battery. It's definitely worth the trip!
